RC 19

Back to Paris. This time young french vinyl aficionado Julien Minarro aka Waxist Selecta introduces us to many obscure tunes in the cross section between modern soul and (disco) reggae. In this lovely episode of Rhythm Cycles Waxist shows us how deep he goes digging – both online and in and around the french capital.

RC 19 – Waxist Selecta – 19.11.12 by Rhythm Cycles

First knowledge I got of Waxist was listening to several of his mixes online, I really liked the soulful reggae approach. I later discovered the Red Stripe Disco edits which he releases, make sure to check them out. This summer I had the chance of meeting Julien in London and dance to a great dj-set of his. When not digging and playing around with edits Waxist organize different events in Paris where he invites people from different places or he simply plays gigs with other local crate diggers. This guy is certainly a part of the new generation of « how deep you can go at a young age » but with his own approach, hope you’ll enjoy the show.
